   "notes": "Title page (leaf 2). The cover omits \"OMA KAMBI\" (oma kampi ‘the book in which [it] is’). Batchelor’s 1897 title supplies the spelling Aeuitaknup. His 1903 Grammar records the contemporary grammatical framework; his 1905 dictionary defines Aeuitaknup as ‘a covenant; a promise’ (誓約、ケイヤク). Tajima (1992) gives the explicit analysis a=e-u-itak-nu-p: a= ‘fourth-person A’, e- ‘applicative’, u- ‘reciprocal possessor’, itak ‘word(s)’, nu ‘hear, heed’, and -p ‘thing/fact’. The embedded u-itak-nu is a quasi-possessive reciprocal: u- supplies the reciprocal possessor of the incorporated noun itak, yielding ‘hear or accept one another’s words’ and the conventional sense ‘agree’. Tamura (1996) records uitaknu ‘listen to each other; agree/obey’; Bugaeva (2016) gives an independently recorded u-itak-nu example with the meaning ‘be obedient’. Chinese 听话/聽話 ‘listen to words; obey’ provides a close crosslinguistic semantic parallel. The comparison concerns semantic motivation and carries no implication of borrowing. The Aeuiteknup spelling printed in Batchelor (1938) requires separate textual study; the internally supported itak + nu analysis accounts directly for the 1897 form.",
